The Marching Panthers Hit the Road!
Imagine taking 200+ Marching Panthers on the road to a marching band competition!
A typical competition Saturday involves the kids practicing for a few hours before loading on buses. Instruments and uniforms are loaded onto a convoy of trailers pulled by parent volunteers.
Once on location, everyone and everything is unloaded and readied for the performance. Sometimes, the band arrives early so the kids can watch other bands and enjoy concessions. The kids don their uniforms and prepare for the performance. After warmups, the Marching Panthers take the field! Our performance time is usually in the evening.
After performing, uniforms and instruments are put away and the kids can enjoy other bands while waiting for the awards ceremony. After awards, the kids are loaded on the bus and the convoy returns to the high school with a late arrival back to the high school. Buses and trailers are unloaded and put away.
Travel Form: Bus policy requires that the kids ride the bus to the competition. A travel form is only required if students will be traveling home from a competition with their parent(s) or other approved adult. The travel form process will be communicated soon by the band directors.
